Thankfully, no one was hurt when a small fire occurred in the dyno testing room at the shop of Joe Gibbs Racing Friday morning.
From Scene Daily:
The fire began while employees were using one of the team’s two
dynamometers, machines used to gauge engine horsepower and durability,
Friday morning.Members of the Huntersville (N.C.) Fire Department responded to the call.
The engine dyno room is located on the first floor of the
two-story building, and the only damage sustained from the fire was
contained in that area, according to team officials.
NASCAR garages and parts are noted for their cleanliness, but this is a stark reminder that gas and oil are flammable. And it’s also a good reminder to always do the engine dynometer testing on the family sedan out in your driveway.
