In Sunday morning’s rain postponed ARCA race, Buster Graham’s car flew over the inside guardrail entering turn one.
The race had been scheduled to run on Saturday but was delayed by rain — rain so hard that it left the infield grass very swampy. That soaked grass catapulted Graham over the guardrail right as he got towards it.
And, quite frankly, it might have been a blessing in disguise. Graham was headed for a hard impact — much like Elliott Sadler in last year’s Sprint Cup race at Pocono — and his airborne adventure meant he avoided any hard impact. (Tom Berte, another driver involved in the incident, was taken to a hospital for observation.)
SAFER barriers were installed along the backstretch wall where Sadler hit before this year’s races at Pocono. Think there’s going to be SAFER barriers there next year?
Ty Dillon (again) won the ARCA race.
